We can, however, help with deciding where to put it all with optimal storage and bike bag attachment solutions.

For longer tours and multiday travel you need the right food and gear in order to be prepared for whatever comes your way. In addition to a wide range of bag sizes (volume) we also have different ways they can be attached to your bike – at the handlebars, on the seat post or on your rear wheel or rack. All of our bags are robust and made from tried and tested, eco-friendly VAUDE materials with Eco Finish. Bikepacking Bags
Traveling by bike means unlimited freedom. Whether you prefer a road bike, cyclocross on gravel roads or mountain biking along single trails – VAUDE offers tailer-made solutions for gear storage, whatever your activity. Just decide where you want to mount your bags – at the handlebar, in the frame triangle, at the seat post, the fork or the top tube – and we’ve got a bag for it that’s secure, waterproof and easy to take with, except for the frame bag, when you leave your bike behind.
The different mounting points allow an optimal load distribution, so that you can enjoy the ride rather than fighting the forces of gravity.
Both your bike and the terrain place extraordinary demands on how to attach your equipment. Gear should be loaded as close to the frame as possible to ensure a comfortable ride. This also minimized the risk of getting caught on anything as you ride by.
Appropriate materials for the hardships of nature have to meet up to tough demands. Our specialized bikepacking bags, Trailfront II, Trailframe II, Trailsaddle II, Trailmulti II and Trailguide II are high-frequency welded and 100% waterproof. Most of the bags are equipped with detachable, waterproof bags that can be loaded quickly and easily. In addition, the Trailfront II has a load strap for attaching extra gear.
All five bags combined offer a packing volume of almost 50 liters. No more excuses not to take that extra detour for one more highlight on your trip.

Some urban bike bags are equipped with our Plug and Ride system. The system allows the upper guide rail to be adjusted. One slanted attachment of the bag prevents heels from getting caught when pedalling. In addition, the upper guide rail can be removed, so that no annoying pressure occures when the bike bag is used as a shoulder bag.
The bags are fastened with our proven QMR (Quick Mount Release) system.
Bag Selection & Weight Distribution
The longer your tour, the more gear you’ll need, which means both bigger bags (holding more volume) and more of them. Keep in mind that any additional weight in your bags changes the handling of your bike, but usually, you get used to these changes pretty quickly.
The weight in your bags should increase from the front of the bike toward the back. This means that heavier gear is stowed in the back bags and the lightest items on the handlebars. You should also keep things that you’ll need during the ride at the front: a map, phone, camera, money and credit card, protein bar, etc. Put things you won’t need as often but that are important in the saddle bag: your repair kit, spare tube, multi-tool as well as a mini-pump and a first aid kit. You should have these in your saddle bag on every bike trip – even if it’s a short one.

Light Me Up Kit II – Lighting system
LED it be light: The Light Me Up Kit II is an innovative light guide that is made to glow in combination with a conventional powerbank (not included). Version II fits almost all VAUDE bags and backpacks – regardless of whether they are “LED ready” or not.
The prerequisite is that the backpack or bag has compression straps. This additional, permanent lighting provides good visibility – making it the perfect complement to a StVO-compliant bike light or headlamp. A great all-round lighting tool from VAUDE, which is just as suitable for the commute as for the ski tour or the night hike.
