How do I attach a new snap?

During prolonged or heavy use, a snap can come off your clothing or gear and get lost. Not to worry – a worn-out or defective snap on a garment, tent, backpack or sleeping bag can easily be replaced.  Replacement snaps  often come with the product in a small bag. If you don’t have a replacement snap, you can pick one up in a fabric supplies store – they come in several shapes and sizes and fit almost anywhere. Here we’ll show you an example of how you can replace a snap on a pair of trousers.

Tools Needed

Hammer, pincers, replacement snap (in this example we’ve used a set from Prym)
