Sleeping Pads

Tips & Tricks

We are proud of our products and develop every product detail so that you can enjoy them for as long as possible. Here you will find useful tips for handling your VAUDE products and instructions for handling as well as background information.

PRODUCT SELECTION

In order to find the product that best suits your needs, you should test several models in advance, especially with regard to the expected temperatures. You will quickly realize which insulating mat comes closest to your expectations.

INFLATION

Important note: Do not inflate your sleeping pad with your mouth!

To inflate your VAUDE sleeping pad – unless it is self-inflating – you should ideally use a pump sack or pump cushion. Although it would be technically possible to inflate the mat by mouth, this is not advisable and should only be considered as a last resort. The air you breathe contains a lot of moisture, which enters the mat when it is inflated and can both promote mold growth and degrade the material from the inside. In the long run, it becomes permeable to air and the mat becomes unusable.

More information about pump sack or pump cushion can be found under accessories.

STORAGE

Proper storage of your sleeping pad is important to maintain its functionality. At home, your mat should therefore always be stored in a dry place and at room temperature. Insulation mats are unrolled and stored with the valve open. Before storing, it is important that the mat is unfolded, aired and dried, so that any residual moisture does not lead to mold.

CARE

Stains and dirt are best removed with a damp sponge and mild soap. In case of very heavy soiling, the sleeping pad can also be cleaned under running water. It is important that it is well dried before packing and storage.

Attention: Do not put isomats in the dry cleaner or washing machine!

REPAIR & SPARE PARTS

We design every product detail to give you the longest possible enjoyment and leave the smallest possible environmental footprint. However, sleeping pads are subject to a lot of wear and tear.

Wear and tear or damage does not have to mean the end of your product. Below you will find a few things you can do yourself to make your VAUDE products last longer:

Guarantee

All VAUDE products have a statutory warranty period of two years. For all “Made in Germany” products as well as sleeping pads, we have even extended this to five years.

If you’ve got a defective product, you can find out if it meets the warranty conditions here.

Check valve

If the silicone seal of the check valve leaks, you can replace it. A suitable seal is included with your sleeping pad.

Repair Kit

All VAUDE insulation mats are supplied with a repair kit for a quick remedy in case of emergency. This contains suitable material strips and repair adhesive.
