In order to find the product that best suits your needs, you should try out some sleeping pads in advance, taking into consideration the temperature range you expect to encounter. When you try them out, you’ll quickly notice which sleeping pad comes closest to your expectations.
Important note: Do not inflate your sleeping mat with your mouth!
To inflate your VAUDE sleeping pad (if it isn’t self-inflating) you should ideally use a pump sack or a pump cushion. Although it is possible to inflate the pad with your mouth, this isn’t advisable and should only be considered as a last resort. Your breath contains a lot of moisture which gets into the mat when inflated and can promote the formation of mold as well as decompose the material from the inside. In the long run, your pad can become permeable to air making the pad unusable.
The correct storage of your sleeping pad is important in order to maintain its functionality. At home, your sleeping pad should always be stored in a dry place and at room temperature. It should be unrolled and stored with the valve open. Before storing, it is important to unroll the pad, ventilate it and make sure it’s dry so that there’s no chance for mold or mildew to develop.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Use a sponge and mild soap to clean dirt and light stains. If the pad gets really dirty, it can also be cleaned under running water. It is essential that it is well dried before packing and storage.
Note: Do not dry clean a sleeping pad or try to clean it in a washing machine!
REPAIRS & REPLACEMENT PARTS
We develop every product detail so that you can enjoy it for as long as possible and leave as small an ecological footprint as possible. Nevertheless, sleeping pads have to be able to withstand tough conditions.
Wear and tear or damage doesn’t necessarily mean the end of your product. Read on to things you should take into account to help your VAUDE product have a longer life:
All VAUDE products have a statutory warranty period of two years. For all “Made in Germany” products as well as sleeping pads, we have even extended this to five years.
If you’ve got a defective product, you can find out if it meets the warranty conditions here.
If the silicone seal on the pad’s one-way valve starts to leak, you can replace it. A replacement seal is included with your sleeping pad.
All VAUDE sleeping pads come with a repair kit for quick help in an emergency. The kit contains the right type of patch materials for your pad as well as repair adhesive.
