Sleeping Bags
Sustainability
VAUDE sleeping bags are simply more ecological. The VAUDE Green Shape label stands for environmentally friendly, functional products made from sustainable materials. We are consistently pursuing a “green” path with integrated concepts and innovative products.

Sustainable Materials
Going the eco-friendly and fair route… this is what drives us and at the same time is the matter closest to heart.
We pay attention to environmental compatibility and sustainability throughout the entire life cycle of a product, from design and materials, through production, use and care, to recycling and disposal. Additional information can be found in our Sustainability Report.
The following Green Shape features make your ecological footprint even smaller with VAUDE sleeping bags:

Recycling
When it’s possible, we use recycled materials in our products. This not only reduces waste, but also helps conserve valuable resources.
Renewable and
biobased materials
In addition to recycled materials, we also use renewable plant and animal-based raw materials to save fossil resources.
Eco Finish
We use an Eco Finish DWR (durable water resistancy) whenever the designed activity and current technology permit. We apply this water-repellent finish to the upper material of your sleeping bag so that water pearls up and runs right off – without the use of any environmentally harmful fluorocarbons (PFCs).
Biobased Plastic
Wherever possible, we use biobased plastics made from 62 % castor oil. Normally, plastics are made from petroleum. In order to conserve this fossil resource, we went out in search of renewable alternatives.
The castor bean grows without supplemental irrigation on poor soil and therefore does not require soil that could be otherwise used for crop cultivation. From the oil of the castor beans we produce fibers for clothing and plastic components such as zippers, buckles and hooks.
RDS Down
Goose down and duck down are a wonder of nature! They provide outstanding thermal insulation paired with breathability at a very low weight. We only use down from high welfare sources that is certified by the RDS Down Standard. This is extremely important to us.
Recycled Down
Wherever possible we use recycled down in accordance with the Global Recycling Standard. Duck and goose down that are extracted, for example, from bedding and clothing, are not discarded but collected and processed by textile recyclers.
This circular economy allows the use of valuable natural products for a longer period of time. The recycled down is cleaned in an energy-efficient process, sorted according to highest quality criteria, and sterilized at high temperatures. Its outstanding insulation properties are thereby retained in this process.
