Low cut vs. mid cut – shoes or boots?
Some of our VAUDE MTB shoes come in both a low-cut (shoe) and mid-cut (boot) model. But which one is the right choice for your next tour?
As a general rule, a higher cut offers your ankles greater stability and better protection from debris, mud and cranks. This model is the right choice when you’ll be riding in a wide variety of terrain and weather conditions, and you expect a lot of time off, carrying or pushing your bike – like during trans-alpine tours.
The low-cut versions offer greater freedom of movement, and, of course, they’re lighter. Due to their reduced weight, our low-cut shoes are generally your best bet for all-out, high endurance biking.
